Health and Wellness Expo for Middletown!
If we list the businesses in Middletown that speak to health and wellness, that list is quite long, especially for a town this size! In addition, with all the amenities we have in town, our walking trails, playgrounds, ballparks, the new pickleball courts, the Middletown Valley Athletic Association, and so much more, we really are a community full of people who want to live their best life! The Expo is a way to showcase all the expertise and opportunities we have in town! What makes this Expo exciting is that we have lined it up with activities and learning sessions. Each vendor is ready to interact with you – whether it is to have a 5-minute shoulder massage, take a mini-yoga class, or assess your posture, this is the kind of Expo where you definitely will interact, learn, and participate.
Mark your calendars for March 2, 2024, at the Firehall Activities Center from 10 am until 2 pm, and get ready for a healthier, happier 2024!
New Year, New Main Street Headquarters
Updates to 19 West Main Street
The other big news for 2024 is that we will be moving into 19 West Main Street! The end is finally in sight! Rehabilitating a historic property has been a tougher road than we anticipated, throw in the COVID-19 Pandemic, and of course, everything got off schedule.
What has kept us positive throughout the process is that we have been enamored with the history of these two little buildings. As a circa 1870 Harness Shop, owners would have served the community and the traveler along the National Road. As the Bussard Barbershop for the last nearly 50+ years, not only could one get a needed haircut, but it became a gathering spot to talk, tell jokes, and catch up on the local news. We think the new use as a Welcome Center will blend the spirit of the past uses. We envision 19 West Main Street to continue to be a place to serve the community and the traveler. We certainly hope it becomes a small gathering spot in our downtown to enjoy our community and be a place to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
Of course, as 2024 unfolds, we will continue to have plenty of fun things to do in Middletown, including shopping and browsing in our downtown stores, delicious food to eat, our favorite ice cream desserts to savor, local wine to sip, and special events for the family to experience, as there is always something new to discover in Main Street Middletown!
